Hello Everyone, Good morning.
My Name is EUNICE OKOH, Founder and Director of SOCASEMP INITIATIVE.

It is with great delight that I welcome each and every one of you to our Exhibition and closing event of our SAYLET ETI-OSA outreach training program for 2018. Please a round of applause.

SAYLET is an acronym for skill acquisition, youth, leadership, and entrepreneurial training. It is a program which is set to reach out to at least 6,000 youths and women across Nigeria within the next three years and we have just concluded our first training project, having successfully impacted at least 400 beneficiaries over the past 1 month in skills like; Digital Literacy, Catering, Music, Wig making, Fashion Creation and Design, Fine Arts, Website Design, Make Up, Event Planning and Decorations, and Dance. We also enjoyed some extra curricular activities like our business seminars, Socasemp inspire seminar, health and wellness course, and our fitness challenge during the project.

This has been a beautiful and remarkable experience for us all which has afforded us the opportunity and platform to learn, network, grow, and very importantly, make impact in the lives of people, while fostering development for our Nation Nigeria.

We are very proud of all our beneficiaries, they made our efforts worth it. The readiness, willingness, and passion for learning which they expressed throughout the time of this project made it all the more inspiring for us and easier for us to achieve our goal. And I’m confident to say that this is the beginning of our relationship and journey together as a community and family in pursuit of purpose, growth, and greatness. We will shake this world together.

To all my Coaches, Team Members and Helpers of the work, especially everyone on this project, I say a very Big Thank You! All of you have sacrificed so much to be with me through this project, and you not only carried out your duties, you did so with so much love, joy, and support. God bless you. You all are Blessings! Please a round of applause for our lovely team.

And very Importantly, to all our partners, especially our very highly esteemed Partner – First City Monument Bank, who have believed in this dream and thrown their weight behind us to help us reach our goal, I say a huge Thank You! Thank you so much for your lovely feedback on the program, they mean a lot to us. And truly, when you came on board this project, it sent a strong message to us which boosted our confidence in the fact that as long as you have a purely motivating and inspiring dream that serves a greater purpose than yourself, and you can dare step out to prove yourself, you will get the right attention and required support to not only bring that dream alive but also keep it alive and growing. So thank you so much for everything.

Socasemp means Sought Out Cities, Arts, Skills, and Empowerment Initiative. And our vision is to seek out places where there are high needs for Empowerment and respond with initiatives that are targeted at;
Poverty Alleviation
Sustainable Livelihood
Mind and Capacity Development as well as
Nation Building.

Like I always say, this vision is so Big! It goes way beyond just these trainings. Matter of fact, the training is just the first part of the grand scheme.

This is because being in a continual process of;
– raising people whose minds and capacities are refined and rightly shaped,
– sustaining them with value that they can rise with,
– creating and delivering to them valuable relationships and platforms for relevance,
– helping them grow into their full potentials till they become leaders and influencers in their fields of endeavor,
is not a 5 weeks plan, it is almost a life plan which takes TIME and sustainable resources to actualize. So you see how the training is just a tip of the iceberg?

This is extensively an institution to effect and impact positive and lasting change in human lives especially with the less privileged – those who have historically, systematically, and constantly been denied access.
And mind you, these are not just the people who don’t have a degree, forgotten in a creek somewhere, No! Not just them.

This includes even those with some form of education. How hard is it to get an education in Nigeria today? Yeah, some don’t have that (and they are foremost in our plans), but what of the ones that do and yet are still without the opportunity for inclusion in the society.

This isn’t just a matter of degree, the gap isn’t closed by degrees alone. Education is not enough for people who have historically and systematically been excluded and denied access. People need inclusion, access to valuable relationships, mentor-ship, platforms for expression and relevance, while creating sustainable commercial value for themselves and for those in their sphere of contact. This right here, is just a thumbnail sketch of what the big picture looks like.

You can now imagine the amount of work, resources, collaborations, partnerships, support, etc., required. Its Long term, but because little drops of water still counts, every level of support is appreciated. I can’t do it alone, this vision creates an environment where people can live purposefully and like-minds can collaborate in making a lasting impact in their time.

This is why I’m calling on more like – minded people and organizations to join us and partner with us because there’s so much to be done.

For instance, as I mentioned earlier, we are reaching out with the SAYLET program to 6,000 – 15,000 Youths and Women across Nigeria within the next 3 years. And as we conclude this project and draw our feedback, we will be setting out for the next training.
However, pulling this off requires a lot of logistics which largely depends on the different levels of resources we are able to pull together.

This is why we are calling out for more partnerships and support because we know that we can reach more with more. So please get involved in whatever way you can. We have our support cards here and on our website. You can also talk to us about other ways we can make this dream a reality for many others in other communities across Nigeria. Every level of support is highly welcomed and appreciated.

With that said, I’ll like to welcome you once again to this moment we are in, thank you for coming out to celebrate with us, and we’ll be so grateful if you can show some love to our beneficiaries exhibiting their works by patronizing them no matter how little. It will go a long way in adding to their joy.

Thank you very much and God Bless You.
